HMTV's World Tour - Take 2 mins from your day, buckle up and sit alongside some world class drivers as they hustle their historic cars around circuits and hillclimbs from around the world!

Spa Six Hour is one of the last true endurance classic races. Competing cars must be pre-65 GT and Touring Cars prepared to original FIA specification. The race is usually run in late September starting at 4pm and running for 6 hours continuously. This year - 2021 the race will run for the first time in early October.

In these night qualifying laps, we ride along in a Healey 3000 - we start in twilight hours with Mike Thorne driving, it is quite a long lap - 4.2 miles to be precise - around the circuit situated high up in the Ardennes forest in Belgium. You'll notice the windscreen is pretty grubby but that is how it is! In the second part of the film - we skip to the very last lap of night qualifying, which isn't quite at full speed as the flag has dropped, but you get the idea of how tricky it is to see most of the circuit is unlit, and 1961 Healey standard spot lamps are not that effective, fit too many more and the dyno doesn't last! - Then there's the dazzle from the GT40s approaching at high speed from behind. But all these challenges are part of the fun that is the Spa Six Hour! - The lap finishes with a trip through both pit lanes, as for this race both sets of pits are used, due to the enormous 100 car starting grid.

This team prefer to work from the old pits for authenticity, and the team consisted of: Sarah Bennett-Baggs, Mike Thorne and John Todd, - they didn't finish the race sadly on this occasion but have finished on the podium on other occasions!
