We are exploring a diy cheap, gold cell activator alternative in this step by step, Shelee bloom blowout tutorial. We know that glue, water and titanium white paint can make a really good cell activator but will it work for all colors? Today we are playing with a double cell activator. My black cell activator is my trusted 3:1 (Australian Floetrol to tube Paint) but my gold is the newly discovered 1:1:1 ratio (Elmers Glue, Water, and Paint)

The reaction using the Iridescent gold light paint (Master's Touch Brand) definitely did not match that of the Titanium white, however paired with the Oxide Black (mixed with Australian Floetrol) the piece still came out gorgeous. The properties in the paint maybe affecting the outcome. the reaction of the true cells that came up was very similar to the reaction of cells popping up when the cell activator is made with American floeteol. My suggestion if your CA doesn't work is to pair with one that works so that you won't waste it. Some cells were created because of the torching and popping of air bubbles! Then as the paint was stretched they opened up and gave us pretty "faux" cells. Of course once the painting is dry.you
