As a first-generation college student whose parents fled Nicaragua, Sarah del Carmen Camacho, Class of 2023, learned early on to face life’s challenges with courage and curiosity. Sarah’s path hasn’t always been easy, but with support from her family and our WashU community, her future is wide open.

Make Way: Our Student Initiative is building resources for undergraduate scholarships, graduate scholarships and fellowships, and the student experience, giving all WashU students, including Sarah, the freedom to navigate their educational paths.
