Ruff Lott III, MEd, is an educational consultant who specializes in the area of Restorative Practices in schools. He played an instrumental part in the development of the Restorative Discipline model developed at Ed White Middle School in the North East Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas, where he served as Assistant Principal. Mr. Lott has 9 years of public education experience at the elementary and middle school levels as a classroom teacher, and administrator. He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration.

In this 4-part video series, Mr. Lott presents “Shaping Discipline with a Restorative Approach.”

The video series provides insight to professionals in fields that work with students on how restorative practices help manage student behaviors. This presentation also includes data on the need for restorative practices and how restorative practices include students, rather than exclude them.

In Part 2, Mr. Lott compares restorative justice versus restorative discipline, the 3 tier implementation, restorative practices, goals of restorative discipline, the reasons for restorative and our current system of discipline.
