SUBARU REAR BEARINGS ARE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND BRUTAL TO REPLACE. Covers bolt-in style rear hub bearings for all modern Subarus. Step by step. Remove any rusted and stuck wheel bearings with no damage to the ABS wheel speed sensors. This is a very difficult way to do these bearings. But if you are stuck and have the car apart already this is how I would do it. There are multiple ways to do this repair, but I can tell you the best way to do it. If you haven't done one of these bearings yet you won't appreciate the tool. These rear bearings on Subarus are the worst I have ever seen. With the Hub shocker I can replace the bearings in 20minutes the way they were meant to be replaced. The bearings rust jack themselves into the knuckle so badly, It seems they are welded in and the won't come out. Replacement can be near impossible. The Hub Shocker breaks them free from the knuckle and breaks the rust bond. I am seeing Subarus that are only 2 years old with this problem in Michigan. I won't even attempt replacement without the tool. It is essential. These are excruciating replacements. Subaru REAR wheel bearings are incredibly failure prone and difficult to repair. Seriously- if you are going to do this repair... Get a Hub Shocker and hit it with a sledge hammer!! The Hub Shocker is the easiest method I have used on the REAR of Subaru's.The tool works easily to get these bearings out. The tool works. It's your best option. Works at a shop or at home.
