Ironbridge is an idyllic village situated in the county of Shropshire, England, where the tranquil river Severn flows through its center. However, the annual flooding season, which occurs between January and March, poses a significant threat to the safety of the village's inhabitants. Fortunately, for over two decades, the designated World Heritage Site has been effectively protected from the floods through the implementation of an advanced flood defense system. The Geodesign flood barrier, which spans over a distance of 550 meters, serves as a reliable barrier, preserving the town's historic sites and safeguarding the community.
