"In the hills of Tamil Nadu there is a man who is something more than a man with powers as yet beyond human comprehension. Reputed to take neither food nor drink and bathe in fire he is Shri La Shri Mahananda Siddha. Aged 82 he epitomises vitality and strength, skin unwrinkled, hair uncut, wearing only a simple cloth around his waist. Living in a cave-like corner, he is master-minding the construction of a Shivic Temple without visible plans, knowing the placement of every step and stone.
