Last month, I spent a good part of one morning at the Pepper Ave. overpass in Bloomington, California. This lightly used road passes over one of the busiest train action places in all of Southern California, being the East end of the Union Pacific West Colton yard. It's a rather busy place... everything from yard switching trim jobs, power being switched onto outbound manifests, and thru trains passing on the mainline!

The up close vantage point from above makes it a really unique place to relax and watch the bustling action going on below, with nobody bothering you about trespassing!
