Mariana Mazzucato is a Professor of Innovation and Public Value at UCL, and a Director of the Institute of Innovation and Public Purpose. She advises policy-makers on how to better create inclusive growth at a large scale, and was named one of the 3 most important thinkers about innovation by the New Republic.

In this video, Mazzucato explains how many of the ideas and developments which we see as being an offshoot of private innovation are actually a function of public funding and investment.
