In this video we will take a look at eSUN's matte PLA filament and I will take you through the print settings required for this very matte looking material.

I found that this filament does require more attention and care than printing with regular PLA materials so you're going to want to give my print settings a try to get started. This way you will waste less filament trying to find the base settings if you decide to purchase this material.

With this material you can certainly achieve the look of other low sheen materials like carbon fiber nylon if you use their matte black color. eSun sent me almond yellow and matte white to test and you can see how low sheen they are when compared to regular PLA.

You can find available colors and material properties here:

The models printed in this video were printed on three different printers to ensure that any issues I experienced were, in fact, issues with the filament rather than machine issues.

Those 3 printers were:

► Creality CR-10 Smart (no mods)
► Printer:
►    • Creality CR-10 Smart Long Term Review...

► ANET ET5X (microswiss direct drive extruder + all metal hot end
► Printer:
►    • ANET ET5X Setup, Settings, and Review...
► Mods:
►    • How To Install Micro Swiss Direct Dri...

► ANET A8 PLUS (no mods)
► Printer:
►    • ANET A8 Plus Assembly Guide, Setup, R...

Before starting with your printing, be sure to measure the diameter of the filament at several points to see if you need to bump up your extrusion multiplier like I did.

Fun fact... this material also smells like movie theatre buttery pop corn when you print with it. Some PLA materials have a sweet smell to them (during printing), this one actually smells like buttery pop corn and in the almond yellow color it reminds me of scented markers as a child.

Thank you to eSUN for providing me with this filament for the making of this video!
