Blood Circulation in the Body:
- Pulmonary Circulation (Circulus Sanguid Minor):
â—‹ Deoxygenated blood comes from the body into the right atrium through the superior and inferior vena cava.
â—‹ Blood goes through the Tricuspid valve into the right ventricle
â—‹ The right ventricle pumps blood through the pulmonary valve into the pulmonary artery
â—‹ The pulmonary artery pumps blood into the lungs
- Circulus Sanguis major (Systemic Circulation):
â—‹ Blood comes from the lungs into the left Atria
â—‹ The left atria send blood through the bicuspid valve into the left ventricle.
â—‹ The left ventricle sends blood through the Aortic Valve into the Aorta
â—‹ Aorta sends blood to the body again

External Structures of the Heart:
- Apex of the Heart (Apex Cordis)
- Base of the Heart (Basis Cordis)
- Pulmonary Surface (Facies Pulmonalis)
- Sternocostal Surface (Facies Sternocostalis)
- Diaphragmatic Surface (Facies Diaphragmatica)
- Right Border of the heart / Right Margin of the heart (Margo Dexter Cordis)
- Coronary Sulcus (Sulcus Coronarius)
