Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 Ram ProMaster 3500 and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Aries RidgeStep Running Boards. Adding a set of running boards to your ProMaster van is gonna give you a much easier step up and inside of your van. From the factory, these vans sit pretty high off the ground to where it's not very comfortable, even as tall as I am. That is a very, very high step. So adding these, it's gonna get one more step, a little bit closer to the ground, helping you get in and out of the van.

A lot of the times when people are using these vans, they're gonna be using them for work. If you're using it for a camper van, these are gonna work great for that too. The problem with taking that big of a first step when you're using it as a work van is 9 times outta 10, you've got something in your hands. So having to step up even higher yet with all that stuff in your hands is gonna be very difficult. that stuff in your hands is gonna be very difficult.

So these steps are there to help with that. These running boards are gonna have a stamped steel design with a textured black powder coat finish to help resist rust and corrosion for the years to come. to give you a superior grip so that your feet do not slip when you're stepping onto the step itself. Our step is going to be 6-1/2", which I can tell you from a lot of different running boards of different running boards that we have here are gonna be on the bigger side, if not the biggest. They're a very, very wide step.

They're not, I wouldn't say they're super, super stylish. I'd say they're probably the best ones that we have, best looking ones that we have for the van series. But when it comes to other ones, there are a lot of other running boards available, just not for the vans. What these little nibs here are also gonna help with, they're gonna help you allow you to scrape off mud, they're gonna help you allow, allow you to scrape off mud, dirt, debris off of your shoes. and the running boards will clean themselves off.

and the running boards are clean themselves off. Another way that this kit is gonna differ from a lot of other running boards that you see on the market for just your standard vehicles is that we're gonna have two different length running boards. we're gonna have a 96" long running board. we're gonna have a 96 inch long running board. That is to include, as you can see, the cargo door And on the driver's side, we're gonna have a 36" long board. 36 inch long board. This is just for the driver to get in and out Both of our running boards are gonna have a max weight capacity of 500 pounds, which is really, really gonna help when getting in and out of the van when you're hauling heavy loads. and out of the van when you're hauling heavy loads. When it comes to the installation, there's gonna be two ways One is gonna be on the 159" wheel base van and one is on the 136" wheel base van. and one is on the 136 inch wheel base van. so the 159" wheel base. That is going to be a custom installation. It'll bolt right up, you don't have to drill any holes. The brackets are custom made to fit the underside of this vehicle. If you have the 136" like we do today, you're gonna have to do a little bit different of an install. You're just gonna have to drill two holes. Most of the brackets are gonna be used in the exact same spots. The two front brackets on our passenger side and the two brackets on our driver's side will bolt up just as usual, the two rear brackets on our passenger side are gonna be installed a little bit different. But with that being said, let's go ahead and show you how we did it. To begin our installation, we wanna start by talking about the wheel base of your vehicle. If you have 159" wheel base, which is the center of your axle or the center of your wheel to the center of your back wheel, if it's 159", this kit is gonna bolt right up. The factory holes are there for you. If you have the 136", the passenger side is gonna be a little different. We will have to drill two holes in our rocker panel. They're essentially the same style holes that we have plugged here on our vehicle. It's just going to be that the holes are not in the right spots for our rear two brackets. The two brackets on the front on the passenger side will bolt right up. But the two rear ones, we're gonna have to drill those two holes. The way that your brackets are labeled may be a little confusing.
