Amazon Prime’s original show ‘The Boys’ has been a massive hit on the streaming platform. Known for it’s over the top style, massive laughs and gruesome violence the show is a satirical take on the superhero genre. It probably comes as no surprise then that it was actually based on an equally bonkers comic book series. The show does take a lot from the original source material and certainly keeps the same tone as well as some of the darker scenes, such as the plane scene, and isn’t afraid to shy away from the more disturbing content. However, it also isn’t afraid to deviate from the comics and forge its own path and this is done by changing some of the comic’s biggest characters.

In this video we will take a look at some of the biggest characters that were changed and how they were supposed to look as well as the ones who are relatively in keeping with their comic book counterparts. This will include characters trading gender, characters having different superpowers or not even having powers at all and introducing characters which didn’t even exist in the comics.
