With Intel's Thunderbolt 3 standards, you can hook up an External PCIe NVMe SSD Drive to your thin and light laptop and get data transfer speeds of up to 2800 MBPS. Maximum capacity of these external drives are up to 1TB. So now you can store heavy games on the external drive and carry them with you.

In addition, since most thin and light notebooks don't have GPUs that allow you to run graphically intensive games, you can also use Thunderbolt 3 to hook up an external Graphics Card (GPU) Unit. This can give you that added performance boost for when you want to game with your thin and light laptop.

While the performance can't compare with that of a desktop PC, Intel claims its still up to 15 times better than what you would have been able to do without hooking up the external GPU.
