Doctor Suvdaa takes care of about 1,400 people in northern Mongolia. With less than three doctors for every 1,000 inhabitants, she has no other alternative than to personally visit each of her patients scattered across the frozen terrain. She’s seen toddlers growing up, elderly on the verge of death, women giving birth.

Day and night, Suvdaa rides long-isolated distances, sometimes up to 200km over several days. There are no roads and no signs as nomadic farmers are scattered across the Taïga. This winter, Suvdaa searches frozen forests on the backs of horses and reindeer, in search of a patient who has recently had a stroke.
