The #ColoradoRiver is home to some of the most fascinating landscapes in the world such as the Grand Canyon or the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument but human exploitation of the #river water is currently causing one of the largest man made nature catastrophes in the world.
A series of laws, lawsuits, contacts and other political decisions which are all together coined the "Law of the River" have allowed the surrounding states to exorbitantly exploit the rivers water.
Water for irrigation and the large cities in the states surrounding the river has depleted the largest reservoirs of the river like lake Mead and Lake Powell by 75% to this day and they are not expected to refill within our lifetime.
