Detailed review of the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek in 2.0S trim with standard AWD, including off-road driving, technology and fuel economy.

The new Subaru Crosstrek replaces the XV in Australia. Five trim grades are available, starting with the $34,990 2.0L model. You can get a relatively mild hybrid, but the version on test today is the top-end petrol 2.0S grade ($41,490 before on-road costs).

The Subaru Crosstrek competes with other small SUVs, including the Suzuki Jimny, Mazda CX-30, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Kona and Volkswagen T-Roc.
