The best endurance bikes need to fit well and ride smooth for very long rides. Is that possible when you can't change important fit components at purchase? Or when the task is made even harder when some proprietary s*** is needed that's out of stock? A frame-up build isn't always practical or a good value. This video looks at 3 types of endurance bikes and models best suited to ultra distance cycling:
1. Proprietary diva: it's got features, but pray you fit it out of the box and all the little parts needed are supported when it breaks in a few years
2. Vanilla: normal parts, easy fit changes and upgrade paths, but no choice in stock fit or gearing components
3. Semi-Custom: normal parts, full fit options, and component choices from the shop. Maybe even locally made and with color choices. Surprising value to boot, all things considered.
