Finding the perfect boot or trail runner for the Appalachian trail is no easy feat. Especially when you are thru-hiking. There are brands like Merrell, Salomon...and...others (I haven't done a ton of research on modern things yet). Russell Moccasin, one of the coolest boot brands in the entire world, however, was the original. They don't use Goodyear welts, and they don't use no stinkin' cork (cork is good I'm jk). All these other brands need to bow down to the king. Today we'll be looking at moc toe boots, what makes them so special? Are they all the same? Who was the first person to hike the Appalachian trail?
