You can pay a ton of money for a 1 person backpacking tent. I found this budget backpacking tent for less than $30 and couldn’t resist picking one up to test out (and use in the backcountry if it passes the tests). I’m a sucker for budget friendly gear. So I set this tent up the first night I got it (in the dark mind you) because we had rain forecasted for the next few days. Things started out well but went bad quickly as the rain and wind picked up.
