A huge episode where I build an absolutely stunning boner log "also known as a Canon, or as Seth at Berm Peak calls it... a banana canon" on my backyard mountain bike trail. I have to say that this is by far my best build yet! Just watch the video to see why. It is such a cool mountain bike trail feature.
This was a relatively easy mountain bike feature to build and it is a hell of a lot of fun to ride my mtb over. While it was technically easy it was still time-consuming.
I had to search for the perfect log to use, then cut it down to size. The log then needed to be dragged with a tractor to the mtb feature location. I used my mini excavator to dig a hole for the fat end of the log.
With the boner log sticking up out of the ground I could then get to work cutting slats for the riding surface. I used an Alaskan mill to slab some timber and screwed the slats down.
This was a big jump so it needed a big landing. I spent an entire day moving dirt so that you could ride your mountain bike away smoothly.
