Traditional massage patients will typically present with a specific concern such as sore muscles after injury and therapists will utilize a focused technique.  In contrast, postoperative lipedema patients experience a unique constellation of multiple conditions that can benefit from a variety of therapeutic techniques.  Our experience has shown marked success in not only targeting the transient lymphedema that occurs after liposuction but also addressing issues causing discomfort, anxiety and mobility limitations.  Utilizing different massage techniques in one session has allowed us to create a customized treatment.  This Lipedema Hybrid Massage has improved patient care, patient satisfaction, reduced postoperative complications and expedited patient recovery after surgical treatment for lipedema.
