In this video we test the DC Fast Charging capabilities of the all new 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric at an Electrify America 150kW DC Charger. This Kona Electric SEL has a 64.8 kWh battery pack with max charging speeds around 100kW's. Peak charging rates have been hard to come across as some of seen speeds in excess of 80kW's while others say it is roughly the same as the last generation which maxes out in the upper 70kW range. Despite enabling preconditioning, the battery was still somewhat cold before starting the DCFC session. With the somewhat slow peak charging speeds and very slow top charging, does this make the 2024 Kona Electric tough to road trip? I would say yes but leave your thoughts in the comments below!
