53 AMG Sounding Loud!! Here’s the first AMG of the new GLE family!! Our first look at the Coupé GLE too on the channel, we get to experience the #GLE53 on the Transfagarasan Highway in Romania! Made famous by the Top gear Romanian Roadtrip Special, it’s a road like no other!!

This is the new GLE 53 4matic+, as we’ve tested in the CLS and E it’s a part hybrid in-line 6 turbo. But this time we have it linked to a proper AMG performance exhaust for the 53 cars!

The car looks like a proper AMG too, with the #AMG panamericana grille previously only reserved full fat AMGs like the new G63, now the GLE Coupé looks like a dead ringer for a future 63 version!

The car is the usual 53 output of in line 6 petrol engine with 435BHP 520nm giving a 0-60 of 5.3 seconds. We also have a fully variable power in the AMG 4matic+ all wheel drive system and between that and the 9-speed gear box is your hybrid power: the EQ Boost starter generator adding + 22hp and 250nm.

We will also explore the new AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL air suspension, based on AMG Ride control+, as well as the key areas where the 53 differs from the standard car.
