A new karting series founded by former Ferrari F1 engineer, Rob Smedley, is using electric race karts to make grassroots motorsport cleaner, cheaper, fairer and faster - and ultimately to tackle the diversity issue that still plagues Formula 1, by giving young drivers from a wider variety of backgrounds the chance to go racing for the very first time.
