Wonder Woman 1984 is set to release Christmas day, further exploring the world of Diana and her band of amazon women. Who is this powerful race of women who fight alongside Diana against enemy invaders? Get your invisible plane ready as we take a journey to examine the differences of these powerful warriors throughout DC comics, animated features and more recently, film. From Mythos to Comics. The Amazon women of Paradise Island were first introduced in 1941 in All Star Comics #8, which also served as an origin story of Wonder Woman. Did you know that Wonder Woman's tribe of warriors didn't always live in the pages of DC Comics? They have been part of Greek mythology for thousands of years. This video will look at the differences in origin stories for the Amazon women throughout the different DC comic reboots. We will also examine the different iterations of the Amazons on the small screen and delve into the most important instances when the Amazon women have graced our small screen. Lastly, we will examine the scenes of valour on the silver screen in the Wonder Woman and Justice League films. One of the most important of all Amazonian scenes will be shown to argue that the Amazonian in film demonstrate the greatest of courage. The Amazonians are a fierce and loyal race of warriors who either hinder or assist Wonder Woman.
