In this forward-looking talk from TED2002, producer and technologist Dan Dubno demos EarthViewer (the precursor known as Google Earth): a web-based way of exploring the world from a satellite's view. He envisions how this tool would transform our understanding of the planet as he zooms into aerial imagery obtained by CBS News, giving a glimpse of some of the world's then-most secretive places.
