Thanjavur to Tiruchirappalli is 60 km distance. In this video, We started our day by visiting the old & famous Hotel Coffee Palace and the 2000 years old Kallanai Dam.

Description of the places visited by us on the “Thanjavur to Trichy” tour.

Breakfast at Hotel Coffee Palace - We started our day in the morning at the very old and famous eatery Hotel Coffee Palace it was on the main road - Mela V.D Street. We had Idiyappam with coconut milk & filter coffee in the breakfast.

Also, we had the Rava Pongal with Sambar.

Idiyappam cost - Rs 40

Then we also met there with the Restaurant owner Mr. Nand Kishore Mehta ji and their son Badri.

Then we had a sweet called “Therattipal” that tasted so nice.

Kallanai Dam - After this, we travelled around 40 km to visit the Oldest Dam - “Kallanai Dam” known as Grand Anicut - This dam is over 2000 years old. It is the world’s ancient first dam which was built with (running water) across the Kaveri River in Trichy.

The Dam was originally constructed by the Chola king “Karikala” in 150 CE.

Karikala Cholan Manimandapam - after this, we visited the King Karikala Cholan Gallery where we got to know more about in details of the history of the Kingdom of Karikala Cholan.

If you are coming to visit the Kallanai Dam then this is the place which you should not miss…

Lunch at Trichy - After this, we had our lunch at Chellammal Manpaanai Samayal, the restaurant at Trichy. We had a traditional South Indian meal there.

This Restaurant is open till 4:00 pm, we reached late so we tasted 8 - 10 varieties of food but they served a total of 35 unique varieties of food there.

Tea at Alif Tea Stall - Then we had tea at a very famous tea shop in Trichy at Alif Tea Stall & met one of our subscribers, Mr Bala Ji - a Resident of Trichy.

After this, we ended our day
