Today we're in the beautiful Trincomalee here in Northeast Sri Lanka.

We got ourselves a bike to explore Trincomalee properly and I've gotta say this could be our favourite city in Sri Lanka hands down.

We kicked off the day with a delicious Tamil breakfast before stopping at a little tea shop for a brew and some Sri Lankan short eats.

Next stop was Trincomalee fish market and this was a lively place, the seafood looked really fresh and the local vendors were all dead nice.

Now it was time to check out a proper beach here in Sri Lanka for the first time so we visited 2 absolutely gorgeous beaches and went swimming for a while!

By now we'd worked up an appetite for some seafood and we ended up driving round Trincomalee looking for some rice and fish curry! Eventually we came across the arafa hotel where we had an absolute feast. The fish curry here and devilled prawns were fantastic.

We then headed into the countryside to some ancient hot springs in the jungle were we had a king coconut with a kind seller.

Down the road there were ruins of a ancient buddhist temple so we had to go take a look, this place was really interesting and there was just nobody there.

To end the day we drove down a little dodgy road to find a sunset spot by a lake, we chilled here for a bit watching the birds fly about until some lads came and told us we we're stood on an elephant corridor and it's pretty dangerous!
