Ovulation is the release of egg from the ovary. This egg is fertilized by a sperm and a successful pregnancy occurs if it implants successfully. Ovulation can be confirmed by several tests which include body temperature monitoring, cervical mucus testing, progesterone hormone monitoring, endometrial biopsy to confirm ovulation, serial ultrasound monitoring of ovulation and urinary LH kits. In the current scenario, we mostly use the last two options- Ultrasound monitoring and LH kits.
