About 20 years ago, it seemed as if everyone wanted an AWD rally car. If you were a "car person" and didn't have a WRX or a Lancer Evo, chances are you probably wanted one. 20 years later the Evo is dead but the WRX lives on as the only affordable AWD performance option in the segment now re-dominated by the sales of the Civic Si. But unlike the Si and the Johnny-come-latelies from Korea, the WRX is swill AWD with a RWD power bias. The rumor mill is telling us we'll finally see a new WRX soon, but until then the waning of Rally Fever means this WRX is from a different era, for better or worse.
