Watch here as Vida Nikravan one of our very knowledgeable Brand Experience Specialists walks you through the differences and similarities between the 2019 and 2021 Cadillac XT5.
Let's start off with what looks familiar… The XT5s mid-size SUV shape has remained throughout its model years, with slight exterior enchantments.
The similarities continue into the headlamps and overall shape of the front end.
Moving onto the interior, you'll notice the familiar yet striking XT5 steering wheel and dash that has continued to stay timeless in its elegance.
With all this being said you are probably wondering what is new with the Cadillac XT5. The midsize, two-row crossover has received a sprinkling of equipment updates since then.
The first and most obvious change has been in the grille. Cadillac has shifted from its iconic horizontal grill to a more modern and sporty look with an all black mesh grille. This is topped off nicely with the optional monochrome badges.
In addition the 2021 and 2022 XT5 bring fresh new wheels to the table, such as these 20" 12-Spoke alloy wheels with Pearl Nickel finish, 20" 12-Spoke Diamond Cut alloy wheels with Dark Android Satin finish pockets, 20" Gloss Black wheels, and 20" Chrome wheels.
In terms of utility, the XT5 ranks between Cadillac's compact XT4 and the three-row XT6.
The XT5 covers all the bases when it comes to comfort and convenience. Even the base trim carries heated power front seats, remote start, a power liftgate, and adaptive LED headlights. The Premium Luxury and Sport trims include additional features such as, a panoramic sunroof, a hands-free power liftgate, driver memory settings, and more.
You will notice the XT5's infotainment system gained wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Along with the second iteration of the GM’s Electronic Precision Shifter that is now consistent through the Cadillac SUV lineup. Standard features also include satellite radio, a more robust wireless phone charging pad, four USB ports, and an 8-inch touchscreen with auxiliary voice and dial controls right at your fingertips. And just wait until you hear how it sounds with an option between 8 high performance speakers or the 14 high performance speakers with the Bose Performance Series system, the sound system has been designed and engineered specifically for the unique cabin acoustics of this vehicle.
Long time XT5 drivers will be pleased to see an updated gauge cluster with up-level instrumentation via the optional Enhanced Visibility and Technology Package, and is available on all trims with the exception of the base-level Luxury. Moreover, the gauge cluster presents new speedometer and tachometer designs, and an 8-inch color Driver Information Center display for driver personalization, warning messages and vehicle information.
As well as more optional Bose premium speakers than ever before.
Every XT5 comes with lane keeping assist, automatic high beams, front and rear parking sensors, and front collision mitigation with automatic emergency braking. Other driver assistance features remain optional, including adaptive cruise control, surround-vision, night vision, automated parking, and reserve automatic braking.
To top it all off the new XT5 has plenty of new color options and engine options to perfectly fit your lifestyle. The 237-hp turbocharged four-cylinder is standard for the XT5, or choose the 310-hp V-6 engine as an alternate option. As someone who has driven various vehicles, I find that the V-6 engine is impressively quiet and well isolated from the cabin.
