The 2010 film was the first of Disney’s animated films to use CGI technology, and viewers' overwhelmingly positive responses to the movie set the stage for a shift in animation techniques and storylines in Disney animated films in the following years. Tangled spent six years in production at a cost that has been estimated at $260 million, which, if accurate, would make it the most expensive animated film ever made and one of the most expensive films of all time. Well, it also earned $592 million in worldwide box office revenue, $200 million of which was earned in the United States and Canada. With this amount of success, a remake was inevitable, and Disney announced the remake at the beginning of 2020. The big question, though? Who will play Rapunzel? Riveted conducted a poll, and these were the most preferred choices for the role of Rapunzel.
