Levi the Karaoke Host empowered so many just by allowing them to try and practice vocals in town together, here in Hilo. He also helps host the Local Show that is now Hawaii Icon and I am going for this year’s #KonaIcon2024 in stead of my beloved friend who passed named Jaems. I believe from seeing him interested in trying again this year because he was able to see at least two posts before passing away and he hearted them!

This motivated me even more to do this competition to honor Jaems. So I dedicate my trying out and performing there to Jaems and I will try my best and give it my all just to do what he would have done knowing him and how we were encouraging each other in vocals after he first got interested in this competition and we didn’t encourage much in town as normally locals here take time for each other when you run into someone and “talk story”.

Part of why I loved Hawaii so much! You can be so free to be yourself and the arts community tried their best here to celebrate everyone together with their talents. Kākou. That means EVERYONE TOGETHER. At our wedding for Justin and I, everyone agreed to Kākou for the food and anything needed. It was so beautiful and awesome to see the amount of support we both got that day from our friends and family. I cherish that day and the memories.
