2025 brings a modest update to the best-selling 3-row luxury SUV in America, the Acura MDX. What's changed? Basically they adjusted the exterior styling and they gave customers what they had been asking for: more features, a streamlined lineup, and no more silly trackpad! That's right, for 2025 the MDX gets a touchscreen infotainment system that's easier to use. It's not just about the touch interface however, they reworked the entire software package with Google integration and map projection in the instrument cluster.

How does the rest of the MDX change? Well we get new grilles, new wheels, some new paint colors and some fairly minor exterior tweaks. On the inside you don't need to get the Type S to get massaging seats anymore, you'll find those in the Advance trim as well. Type S, that now gets all the premium touches you'd expect in a top trim including all the features from the Advance trim and a 31-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.

The move away from Panasonic audio systems is a huge shift for Acura. We don't know where it will go, but I'd guess that we'll see more B&O audio systems in the future.

Engines and transmissions? Those are the same as before. There's a 3.5L V6 in most trims making 290 HP and 267 lb-ft, and a 335 HP turbo V6 if you get the Type S. Both engines get the 10-speed automatic, Type S gets standard SH-AWD while the regular model starts with FWD but makes the trick AWD system optional.

We don't know what the MSRP will be yet, but you can bet it'll be a bit more than the outgoing 2024 MDX.

What do you think? Did Acura do enough?
