Today's challenge is LONGER than previous videos in this series, and it's worth it! You'll learn:
● How to identify 4 different centers of intuition and "wake them up" by tapping
● Where the iliopsoas muscles are located and why psoas tension can impact the pelvic floor
● Why the hips "store" emotions
● An INCREDIBLE psoas stretching routine for tight pelvic muscles and to release stuck emotions!

Psoas Stretches start at 20:02

The psoas is a fascinating muscle when it comes to emotional storage. This physiological tendency to "hold onto" stress and tension is why many people experience a release of emotions (often in the form of tears) during hip openers in yoga classes, or during certain types of hip-centered dancing!

The iliopsoas reflexively tightens when you're scared or experiencing emotional stress because of its anatomical relationship to the diaphragm AND to the pelvic floor. It also tightens due to its neural connections that communicate the brain's natural response to protect us and keep us safe. These responses change breathing patterns and prepare the hip and core muscles to fight, run, or freeze.

The psoas muscles micro-recruit multiple times a day, every day, especially if you have a lot of stress or anxiety in your life. If these micro-recruitments of tension are not released, they'll build up and cause dysfunction.

Don't miss ALL the great info and the full-length psoas stretching routine in today's challenge! You will need yoga blocks for this psoas stretching workout. Yoga blocks are easy to find in stores and online. Here's an example: https://amzn.to/2LharB2
