I've always been quite fascinated by how close (probably related) words like "open air, outdoors, wild" ("fri"), "free" (also "fri") and "peace" ("fred") are in all Nordic languages. I find it rather interesting how the concept of "open, wild" can be so easily bound to the idea of "freedom" and "peace".
