We have used oil-based polyurethane (floor finish) and we are going to explain why. We have been using oil-based varnish for several years now. It's a tough floor finish. It's also cheaper than water-based finish even though it holds up just as well or even better.

In this video, I will break down the four main reasons we are quitting oil-based finish.

The reasons are:
1. Debris in the finish.
2. High levels of VOCs in the varnish.
3. The odor of the finish.
4. How VOC law is affecting the supply of oil-based polyurethane.
