Jim Crane, Founder of This Is Number 1, the world's first curated Bitcoin art platform took to the Coinscrum stage to speak about his and his partner's experience with Bitcoin and Bitcoin L2's, most notably Stacks (STX).

Jim & Dash started working in Bitcoin way back in 2011/12 and are long-experienced OG's in the UK. They also are both pioneers of, and early builders within the Stacks blockchain ecosystem.

Stacks is an L1 blockchain, built to provide L2 functionality and Smart Contracts for Bitcoin. Stacks uses a novel consensus mechanism called Proof-Of-Transfer (POX) to secure hashed blocks inside Bitcoin blocks. Stacks has its own token (STX) to be used as gas for transactions and is also working hard on developing Bitcoin write functionality, with sBTC, in a trust minimised 1:1 peg with BTC.
