This 3D chair assembly overview animation shows a step by step overview / instruction of the various parts and the assembly steps (as 3D animation). The parts are randomly placed and animated to the correct position. Details animations are included to show the assembly process in more detail.

The animation was made after we found the original instructions (on paper) to be very limited. We find it much easier to follow and animated instruction we we created one. All parts are individually modelled and may be changed (slightly)where it was found required.

Blender (3d) for modelling and animation was used for this project. The various parts use “child of constraints” once they are in place. For the rotation, a single empty was used as both the hexagon tool and the screws are at an angle. The rotation parts use a “copy rotation” constraint; both with the empty as the main object.
