After a few days in the city, and with beautiful weather on the horizon, I was itching to get into the mountains I could see across the bay from San Francisco. So I picked a place on the map, packed up my bivvy and enough food to last 48 hours, and off I went for a brilliant few days in the Golden Gate Recreation Area.
