On the morning of Sept. 11, patients began flooding emergency rooms throughout New York City within minutes of the World Trade Center attacks. Over the next five months, the multidisciplinary team at the William Randolph Hearst Burn Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center cared for 18 of the most severely injured 9/11 patients.
