Across the American River, at Sacramento Bar in the Fair Oaks area, is a popular bridge to fish, kayak, raft, swim, jog or just enjoy nature. It also has a unique name, the Jim Jones Bridge. But, not THAT Jim Jones, the one cult leader. The name of this bridge is linked to a visionary who fought to preserve it after its future became uncertain once the company that built it shut down its nearby gravel plant.
