What the rules on the road here in the UK in 2021, thanks to MPS Owen messenger we get down and dirty using a fiesta ST180, hopefully this video answers your questions.

From Owen : We get many questions asking about mods to various cars so in this video we cover a few things we’ve already looked at but in relation to models other than the Focus ST. Yes, it’s still a Ford but the concept is the same generally.

In this film we look at common mods for young drivers, what you can/can’t do and we try to explain why. Hopefully by explaining why it will help you understand why the legislation is there.

For 2021 DVLA have introduced BSAU145e legislation. We are liaising with DVLA to find out exactly how this will effect 3D and 4D plates and will let you know with a full video on number plates as soon as DVLA give us the details. We want to make sure the information we give you is correct.

We also look at why you need to declare your mods fully. Insurance is a business and like any business will look after their interests. If you don’t declare mods they could invalidate your policy. If for instance you bought an Evo FQ360 you’d insure it as an FQ360. If you bought an Evo FQ300 and modified it to the spec of the FQ360 but only insured it as the FQ300, the insurance company are unlikely to honour a claim as you’ve insured the vehicle as something other than what it is, therefore leaving you uninsured. Claims can cost insurance companies potentially millions so they will look closely if they need too. Telling them about stickers may sound pedantic but it’s in your own interests.
