I've met a lot of people with mediocre language skills who do a fantastic job communicating in their target language. Let me tell you how.

This video is dedicated to Moses McCormick, who died suddenly of heart complications last week. He was a giant in the language learning community, and had spent time learning 60-70 different languages. Of course, he didn't know most of those languages very well, but he was fearless, and never shied away from practicing his languages with strangers in public. I had the great honor of interviewing him on my channel last month, and we discussed some of his methods for working up the courage to practice languages with strangers.
