The sentiment, “Gone but not forgotten” is sometimes what you hear from people who have lost loved ones. But rarely do you hear it spoken by the lost one to those left behind. While Jesus’ disciples were about to suffer an unthinkable loss, Jesus assures them he would not forget them. Instead, Jesus makes some powerful promises to those disciples and to us that carry us through times of sadness and loss, and prepare us for that time when our life comes to an end.
