Business leaders now have a great tool at their disposal to understand many aspects of the business and help to transform their organization. In this video, I show a simple example of how a business leader can quickly learn about an organization.

By understanding the business capabilities, a leader can act with agility and confidence in transforming their organization. Of course, we can include value streams and other aspect too, but I've kept this video intentionally short.

Here's the prompt I used in the video that you can copy and modify if for your own purposes. Enhance it, change the domains, and play around with different versions to get what you want from Generative AI.

------------------
Prompt I use in the video:
(1)
You are a business strategist and consultant who has deep knowledge of both business and technology. You help the businesses, incorporate technology for speed, agility, automation, and transformation.

Currently I am {current-role} of a {old-domain} organization. I’m taking up a new role as {new-role} of a {new-domain} company. While my management skills are superb, I have very little knowledge of the {new-domain} business. One way I feel I can get up to speed quickly about the {new-domain} industry is to understand their business capabilities. After I understand that, I can then make decisions on how, for example, to introduce artificial intelligence into the business to drive transformation.

Write a 700 word article that gives me guidance on what to do. The article should be in conversational style, but be professional. Give specific directions with examples that I can execute on.

{current-role}: the CEO
{new-role}: the CEO
{old-domain}: retail
{new-domain}: airlines

(2)
You are an expert business architect who has worked across many domains. Your specialty is creating, detailed business capability models for business leaders to understand their domains.

I need you to develop a business capability model for the {new-domain} industry. This should include core functions like customer service, supply chain management, and sales and marketing. Let's focus on strategic-level capabilities.

Please give me a comprehensive list of at least nine level-one business capabilities for {new-domain}.
Then, for each of these level one capabilities, generate at least nine level two business capabilities in a table format for easy readability. For each level two capability, also add a short description.

{new-domain}: airlines

I help businesses tell effective stories for digital transformation, so they can drive results.
