This year Arafah will fall on Thursday 30th July 2020. Only a select few were allowed for Hajj. But do not despair we have been given a big opportunity to reap rewards on this day!

1- Fasting
Abu Qatadah Al-Ansari (Allah be pleased with him) narrated, “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was asked about fasting on the day of Arafah (i.e. 9th Dhul-Hijjah).
He replied, “[Fasting on the day of Arafah] is an expiation [of sins] for the previous year and the following year.” [Muslim]

2- Make Fard Salah your TOP priority

Remember- If you fix your Salah, your Salah will fix everything else for you.
Fixing Salah can include:

Making Wudoo excellently with full awareness of Allah;
praying at the earliest time; not missing a single Fard prayer; praying in congregation (for men), and praying Salah with Khushoo’.

“Maintain with care the [Obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayer and stand before Allah, devoutly obedient.”
[Quran Surah 2: Ayah 238]

3- Recite Tahleel, Takbeer, Tahmeed and Tasbeeh multiple times during the day

Takbeer means Allahu Akbar, Tahmeed - Alhamdulilah, Tahleel - Laa-ilaaha-ilAllah, and Tasbeeh - SubhanAllah.

“That they may witness things that are of benefit to them (reward of Hajj in the Hereafter and also some worldly gain from trade), and mention the Name of Allah on appointed days, over the beast of cattle that He has provided for them (for sacrifice).” [Surah Al-Haj:28]

From 9th to 13th of Dhul-Hijjah, it is recommended (sunnah) to recite Takbeeraat-e-Tashreeq starting from Fajr on the 9th and after every Fard Salah thereafter.

Takbeeraat-e-Tashreeq is as follows:
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa ilaaha illallahu Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa lillahil Hamd.

It is translated as: “Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. There is no deity besides Allah and Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest and all praises are for Allah only.”
