I have been wanting to do this video for a long time. The 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge was the first event I remember watching that was streamed over the internet.  I remember following along and cheering for each milestone reached by these two cars.  I even had a poster of H1ghlander on my desk!  These cars were SUPERSTARS to the nerd community in 2005!So when I was working with an autonomous drone company 3 years ago, someone said to me "If you think that's cool, you should see what I have in my barn!"  I nearly fell out of my chair.    I have been chasing these cars down ever since then.  I am so glad I got to go see/touch/feel these amazing pieces of history.  What they did for robotics, self driving cars and the city of Pittsburgh can't be measured.  I know a lot of people won't understand but this was truly a highlight in my life.  If you don't know the history, please watch, and then watch the NOVA documentary of the entire race.   • NOVA Season 33 - Ep 9 - The Great Rob...  There were a lot of people trying to win and some crazy things happened in that desert in Nevada.
