In this quick question video we’ll be answering your question on whether you can use an ovulation test instead of a pregnancy test to see if you are pregnant.

It is not an uncommon comment in the fertility community that you can use an OPK to test for pregnancy. In what situation would you want to do this? Well, if the store is closed and you suspect you may be pregnant, or if you have a stash of ovulation tests and don’t want to spend the money on a pregnancy test, to name a few scenarios.

The quick answer is, yes an OPK can pick up on a pregnancy. But… there are buts :)
